March Prayer Focus: Parenting

 Week of March 5-11
Moms will understand their children’s “wiring”

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”  Psalm 139: 13-14

Week of March 12-18

Moms will encourage their children.

“Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”   1 Thessalonians 5:11

Week of March 19-25
Moms will learn effective ways to discipline

“He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.”  Proverbs 13:24

 Week of March 26-30
Moms will have consistency in training their children

“Train a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not turn from it.”  Proverbs 22:6

We believe in the power of prayer.

How wonderful it is that we can talk directly with God and that he hears our praises and our requests.  At Pacific Lifeline we believe that prayer is an essential piece of our work.  We work with women who come from difficult pasts; prison, drugs, abuse, rape, losing children, homelessness, domestic violence.  Pray for the woman and children who live at Pacific Lifeline. Although they do not know you, your prayers can change their life.

October Prayer Focus: Schedules

 Week of October 2-8
Pray that our moms will adjust to school, work and activity schedules.

“Ah, Lord God!  It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm!  Nothing is too hard for you.”  Jeremiah 32:17

Week of October 9-15

Pray for residents as they attend counseling and case management sessions.

“Who is like the wise?  Who knows the explanation of things?

A person’s wisdom brightens their face and changes its hard appearance.”  Ecclesiastes: 8:1

Week of October 16-22
Pray for residents as they juggle chores and responsibilities that must be completed on the weekends.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”  Isaiah 40:31

 Week of October 23-31
Pray for staff as they coordinate counseling, case management and childcare services.

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm.  Let nothing move you.  Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not vain.”  Corinthians: 15:58
